The New Inn - Lower Street

The New Inn, Lower Street, that has now been under new ownership for the last 4 years, is the oldest pub in Horning. Featured on BBC and ITV holiday programmes, it has a large riverside garden, recently refurbished with a garden bar and children’s play area. It has moorings for approx. 20 boats. The New Inn is the only privately owned pub on the main river and it has been in the same family for the past 11 years.
The interior is famous for its antiquities and memorabilia.
We offer fresh Cromer crab and lobster (when available), also the steak & ale pies , steak & stilton pies
It is noted for its food far and wide and the Brisbane Courier and Mail reported on a previous visit:-
“Demanding genuine pub food, we sampled it on the Broads and awarded FIRST PRIZE to the Steak and Stilton Pie at the
New Inn, Horning”.

The Ferry Inn

The Ferry Inn was built in the 1840’s on the site of a monks’ mead house. During the Battle of Britain the Inn was frequented by pilots from nearby RAF Coltishall including Douglas Bader. Today, after a brief closure The Ferry Inn has re-opened following redevelopment and extensive refurbishment. Donna  and her team pride themselves on running a tight ship and getting to know the customers.   The Ferry Inn is open all day, all year through from 11am. to 11pm. Food is served from 9am - 9pm.  Famous for its Carvery, The Ferry Inn caters for all ages from children to senior citizens with facilities for the disabled. There are moorings for 16 boats with no charge during the day. There is a games room for children and pool, snooker or crazy golf for adults whilst enjoying the river view.
