Getting to Portugal

Lisbon is the nearest airport, and is only about a 45 minute drive on motorways and major roads to Caldas da Rainha and Rostos.
The flight time from the UK is approximately 2.5 hours. It is well served by the scheduled airlines and some low cost airlines.

· EASYJET: This airline now flies daily from London, Luton

· MONARCH fly daily from Gatwick

· BA fly four times daily from Heathrow

· TAP AIR fly four times daily from Heathrow/Gatwick

· AIR LINGUS fly daily from Dublin

· RYANAIR Fly to Faro Airport in the Algarve

Faro, on the southern coast is an alternative airport offering cheap flights, many with the low-cost carriers. Rostos is approximately a 2.5 hour drive from Faro with nearly the entire journey along under utilised motorways.
Easyjet fly here from many UK airports.

Porto is an alternative airport and is about a 2.5 hour drive. RyanAir fly here from both Liverpool and Stanstead.

A car is essential for getting around.

Instructions for getting to CASA JAMADA from the Airport

From Airport to Casa Jamada

From Car Hire exit, turn right and go right into the flow of traffic. Go through tunnel towards city centre to a large roundabout ► Get in middle lane, as you are going almost completely round the roundabout to 5th. exit.

(► this roundabout is the worst bit of the whole trip. If necessary, as you get onto it, get into the inside lane and go right round to familiarize yourself where you need to get off )

Then into right-hand lane as you get to the lights. As you get to flyover go under flyover to 5^th exit signed A1/A12 and A8 follow all signs to A8 Oeste ( A8 west) or A8 Leira. After 3km as you go through another tunnel, keep in the right hand lane as A8 branches off right immediately through tunnel
Before long you will see Loures Shopping Centre on your right.

Stay on A8 until A15 turn Junction 16 ( There is a toll as you leave A8 - approx €4.20 ) Onto A15 Turn off at Junction 3 (toll 1€) and then turn right at the roundabout and through tunnel to T junction. Turn right towards A dos Francos through Sta Suzanna. Exit village and almost immediately turn left on a right-hand bend signed Rostos. Go down hill, round bend, over little bridge, up hill and then turn right (just before Ameais sign straight ahead). Follow road through village to T junction. Turn left and house is 50 yds. on left

From A8 Loures to Lisbon Airport car return

Pass Loures shopping on your left Then 2km on signed A12 SUL go up onto flyover and through tunnel. After tunnel follow Airport signs (middle right lane)

Get to Junction 14 signed A1 north and go off right signed second circular IC19, past hoardings, past Airport Cargo sign just after radar sign junction 2 Go straight on and follow signs for airport. ( If returning car go into Arrivals NOT Departures and drive straight through. Car returns are on slip road to car park on your right virtually where you exited the car park park on your arrival )
