Laughlin - Nevada
In February and March of 2004 went to Nevada and stayed in Laughlin, well some of the time, which is in Nevada.  Now you can gamble in Nevada but not in Arizona which you can see just the other side of the river Colorado.  All you do is go over a bridge that Don Laughlin built that is two minutes away and you are into Arizona where there is no gambling and is in another time zone.  Laughlin only has Hotels, a very nice but small mall and that's all.  You can go from one hotel to another all day and night long if you like and they are all so very different.  Across the river is Bullhead City which is about 15 miles long and thin with shops, mall, eating places etc. but no gambling.  It also has a Wal-Mart which is now in the UK and has bought out Asda.  There is a small airport here for internal flights and car hire is also available.  We spent more time in Arizona than we did in Nevada as all Nevada has, roughly, is Las Vegas.  More about that later.

Oatman - Arizona
Imagine all those little gold mining towns in the wild west that people like Clint Eastwood used to ride through and there you have Oatman.  It has stayed like it was all those years ago with wild burros that bite just wandering the street.  In the pictures below, you will find the very room that Clark Gable and Carol Lombard used on their wedding night lots of years ago.  The old original County Goal is still intact although now it has its own toilet.  A lovely place with the old gold mine nearby.
