Am/Dram - Amateur Dramatics
My first foray into amateur dramatics was after Mandy
died. She was about to be in "Calamity Jane" with her pal Tracey
when she died. I then became interested in doing this acting 'thing' so when I moved to Horning
the local postman, John, came
around selling tickets for the pantomime being done by HATS -
Horning Amateur Theatrical Society and he asked if I
would like to join . So I
did, and I was hooked and I met Vicki.
This was in 1987 and I have been doing 'it'
ever since. I stayed in Horning for a few years and then Vicki and
myself started another group that performed in Hoveton Village hall and
we called ourselves "Broadland Entertainers" and did pantos, "Annie",
"The Wizard of Oz" and a few others. We then amalgamated with
Theatre 101 at RAF Coltishall and have been there ever since.
But we have been in other groups appearing at the Puppet Theatre, on
Cromer Pier, at the Playhouse in Norwich and various other venues. Oh.
we are so adventurous. But at the present time we are rehearsing
for "Anything Goes" to be performed in May 2003. (Pictures to follow)
